So with that said, there have been the creations of global servers creating secured VPN (Virtual Private Network) for those who are not physically able to connect in a LAN, creating a LAN community across the net. or if you connected to a Network server with others who had the game, like a friend brought over his CPU to your house and you all plugged in. You can still play MP using HOTSEAT if you had many to play with in the same room. They discontinued their online servers etc. There is no longer any online service from techs, support, and no local community.
Ubisoft long ago desided to cut service for many of their titles for whatever reason.
